An important part of Character Development is Service Learning. We encourage students to be involved in their community and school, teaching them to value service and giving to others. At Ridgewood, we teach that leadership skills can be learned and implemented regardless of age. Each of our students is viewed as having the potential to be a leader. Third, fourth, and fifth grade students are given the opportunity to be a part of the Student Leadership Team, serving around Ridgewood. We also have several opportunities through the year that encourage students to participate in Service Learning beyond our school. This includes helping to support organizations such as the Salvation Army and The Greenville Homeless Shelter.
